Many of these were related to poor functionality that placed unnecessary barriers between the company and its customers. The most challenging issue we faced though was in improving the company’s image. We created a site design that allowed their fine images to “be the star”, showcasing the more hip and relevant side of PictureQuest.

PictureQuest – Website Redesign

PictureQuest online sales increase over 250% after launch of redesigned e-commerce store.

PictureQuest is one of the largest online
stock photo libraries offering both rights managed
and royalty-free stock photography
from the world’s leading photo
agencies. The company, headquartered in
Peoria, Illinois, maintains offices in New
York, Washington, London, Sydney and
Munich.

Vialogix was hired to re-design
the PictureQuest site to make search results
and purchasing online easier to use.
Vialogix started with customer and sales
support interviews that lead to restructuring
the online store information architecture.
Our design interface utilized a Search
Panel found on every screen to allow users
to see what they searched for, view
results, edit the parameters and quickly
refine the results in order to find the type
of picture they need. Additionally, the Results
and Detail screens were developed
to allow users of the site more customized
control over how the content is displayed.
Because of this, PictureQuest customers
showed their support for the new site: site
statistics show more searching, the creation
of even more lightboxes and dramatically
increased sales.

The company has
since been purchased by Jupiter Media,
but based on the success of the site, continues
to use the Vialogix design.
