Miller Orthopaedic Clinic

Miller Clinic improves patient service with online registration, billing information, and other e-care services.

The redesign included updating site architecture,
interface, and graphical content
based on feedback from waiting room
patients and user testing. The redesigned
site also has links to “mini-sites” where
Miller Orthopaedic Clinic doctors post
their latest research, discuss their collaborative
projects with world-renowned orthopedists
and provide valuable patient
information.

The challenges for Miller included
communicating the message in
such a way to demonstrate expertise and
make the message meaningful to prospective
patients. In addition, the web site
needed to accommodate the significant
growth of the clinic in a number of initiatives.
The web site also needed to facilitate
the emerging e-care initiatives by
Miller. To demonstrate expertise, the site
provided case studies that integrated the
specialized message with descriptive
overviews of real-life cutting edge procedures
being performed at the clinic. In
addition, mini-sites were created for all
physicians to help communicate about
their ongoing research and industry seminar
leadership. A scalable Information
Architecture was designed for the site to
accommodate the foreseeable growth of
the clinic in a number of areas.

The e-care
initiatives were rolled out for the first time
through a series of forms which allow patients
to pre-register, request prescription
refills, ask a question to a nurse, investigate
billing, and more.
