Vialogix Client, Foundation For the Carolinas, Wins National Wilmer Shields Rich Award for its Web Site

CHARLOTTE, NC – Charlotte-based web site developer, Vialogix Communications, Inc., http://www.vialogix.com/, announced today an award received by its client, Foundation For the Carolinas for its web site, http://www.fftc.org/. The site received a bronze award for excellence in communications at the national Wilmer Shields Rich Awards Competition last week in New Orleans as part of the 50th Annual Conference of the Council on Foundations. Sponsored by the Council on Foundations and the Communications Network in Philanthropy, the awards program promotes more effective communications and increased public accountability among foundations and corporate donors.

Foundation for the Carolinas’ President, William L. Spencer, accepted the award for its web site in the category of Community and Public Foundations With Assets Over $30 Million.

Vialogix developed the site design and provided back-end technical services under the direction of the Foundation’s Charity Perkins, vice president for communications. The site was first launched in 1998. The site features donor vignettes, information on charitable giving through the Foundation for both donors and financial advisors, information for grant seekers, facts about the Foundation’s 13 regional affiliate community foundations, the latest news releases and other Foundation publications, and an extensive resource page of philanthropic links.

Entries to the awards program included annual reports, magazines and other periodicals, guidelines for grant applications, public information campaigns and World Wide Web home pages. Over 300 entries were submitted to the awards program.

A panel of ninety judges, including communications experts, professional writers, journalists, publication designers and public relations professionals from across the country participated in the selection process. The judges rated efforts based on clarity of writing, design, overall concept and effectiveness.
